Platform Engineer

Our core product is a sophisticated IoT edge-to-cloud data platform. We bridge the gap between physical hardware and cloud-based intelligence, enabling seamless data ingestion, processing, and management at scale.

We are seeking a Backend & DevOps-focused Engineer to maintain and evolve this ecosystem. In this role, you will be responsible for the core engine that powers our IoT connectivity. Core Responsibilities

• Backend & Logic: Develop and maintain the services and APIs that power the platform using Node.js, Python, or Go. You will work across these languages to ensure efficient data processing and system logic.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Manage and scale our AWS environment using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code. You will be responsible for the health and orchestration of our Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability for our IoT device fleet.
• Database Management: Own the performance and reliability of the PostgreSQL layer. This includes schema design, query optimization, and ensuring data integrity as the platform scales.
• Platform Maintenance: Ensure the continuous operation of the platform, including the maintenance of existing data pipelines to support steady data flow from IoT devices to the cloud.
• Frontend Support: Occasionally assist with React based development to help the product team improve internal dashboards or user-facing features.

Qualifications & Skills

• Software Engineering: Proven experience building robust backend systems and APIs.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: A solid understanding of (or a strong interest in learning) AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Data Fundamentals: Practical experience working with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Adaptability: Ability to move between infrastructure tasks and backend application code in a polyglot environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous exposure to Kafka or other message brokers for handling high-throughput IoT data streams.
• Understanding of IoT architectures and the challenges of hardware-to-cloud communication.
• Experience with React for building or maintaining web-based interfaces.
