Halvard has always had a strong interest in the maritime industry, combining his passion for technology and innovation. He specializes in creating advanced control systems and platforms that bring efficiency to maritime operations through cutting-edge digital solutions. Before co-founding Nortech AI, he applied his skills as a Development Engineer at Bergen Engines, focusing on engine control and automation systems.

While working for Rolls-Royce, Halvard led key projects like the Equipment Health Monitoring platform, which enabled real-time tracking of equipment status, and the Remote Management system. This system allowed operators to monitor and optimize power plants from anywhere in the world, using secure, end-to-end data platforms. These knowledge is currently used for the advanced IoT solutions Nortech now delivers to the maritime industry. By leveraging Halvard’s expertise in developing secure, end-to-end data platforms, Nortech ensures efficient data extraction, secure storage, and powerful visualization tools.

However, this experience brought not only challenging projects, but also important network, as it was during his time at Rolls Royce when he met with Francisco Roque and Anders Paulsen. With a shared vision of transforming the maritime industry through data and digitalization, they started Nortech AI, aiming to push the industry forward.
